Bulkington Village Centre is a charitable company set up in 1996 to take over a former school in the centre of Bulkington and develop it into a multi-activity community centre. This unique project has been in large funded by the National Lottery and is now a self supporting centre where all profits are ploughed back in for the benefit of all its users.
The centre has drawn together a blend of statutory and community services on one site. These include a Doctors Surgery, NHS clinic, Police sub-station, Childrens Centre, Nursery and Pre-school. The Centre also provides rooms to hire for conference and training puposes in addition to community groups for social, educational and cultural activities.
BVC's objectives are to develop a financially self-supporting community centre where all profits are ploughed back in for the benefit of the local community.
With thanks to the National Lottery, Awards For All and local funding opportunities, modernisation and expansion of the Centre has been made possible.
BVC currently has a varied programme of activities available suitable for all ages, abilities and interests, ranging from Art classes, keep fit, family history to youth clubs. Please see table below:
